#026 - Friday, September 21, 2012: Lucky Number — with guest Lindsay Powell (Fielded/Ga'an)

Fielded is the solo project of Lindsay Powell, vocalist of Ga’an. By using vocals and minimal instrumentation, Powell explores the many moods that can be created through experimentation with voice as leader rather than follower of the amplified instrument. The set can range from quiet and weary singsongs to dark and cacophonous chants; oftentimes the movement allows no room for breath from start to finish. The voice is the thread throughout, tying together juxtaposing sounds and removing any need for categorization.
Lindsay is currently on tour, in preparation for her upcoming album, Ninety-Thirty-Thirty on Infinity Cat.

#025 - Saturday, April 21, 2012: A Large House Full Of Beautiful Furniture, With A Library & Many Other Rooms — with guest Jeff Witscher (Rene Hell)

music to read morning paper to & finding narrative in more abstract sound containing excerpts & mixed accordingly

////

Cease to Exist! invites special guest, Jeff Witscher, alias Rene Hell, and mind behind the labels Agents of Chaos + the latest Salon Ltd. Over the last handful of years Witscher has made a name for himself under a plethora of different pseudonyms exploring various disparate styles. He has been known as Impregnable, Secret Abuse, Marble Sky and as part of Roman Torment and Deep Jew among others, and now he’s settled on Rene Hell. With this project we find him focused on synthesized kosmiche sounds – but unlike many of his contemporaries, instead of delving into nostalgia there is something decidedly modern about Witscher’s compositions.

Rene Hell will perform this Saturday, in part of the Work Related Series with White Dog, Hubble, and Paradise

CEASE TO EXIST! SECOND YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW!

Matt Lyons of Total Abuse/White Dog joins me for a virtual co-DJ session — assaulting you with some of his favorite hits. A man about town, you're likely to find Matt spinning records at a rad spot in New York City or concocting for you a nice cocktail.

"I was out of the loop often this year — spent the majority of it establishing a small local business, which has been a significant undertaking, while trying to maintain various projects/goals afloat. 2011 has been both challenging and a year of total growth. I'm grateful for the obstacles and people in my life this year — they've been great teachers. Looking ahead at 2012: the next dimension and continuation of the Underground."

#017 - January 18, 2011: Run to Paradise — with guests Angie X & Jack Mannix (Circle Pit)

Cease to Exist! ONE Year Anniversary Show! Thanks to everyone for supporting this endeavor. My eternal gratitude...

Cease to Exist! invites Australia-based rock group: Circle Pit to discuss life in Oz, tour mayhem, outer space & UFO's, punk vs. rock-and-roll, and their opinion of America - followed by an onslaught of hits.

Circle Pit is a straightforward rock band who came from the ashes of Kiosk, their adolescent punk band who disbanded in early 2008. Their latest, Bruise Constellation (Siltbreeze), is the perfect blend of their love of Royal Trux, The Stones, and T-Rex. The Pit will continue to search & destroy.

#016 - November 12, 2010: Canto, Desde El Fondo De Las Ruinas — with guest Mikaylah Bowman (Artist/White Dog)

Cease to Exist! invites visual artist, Mikaylah Bowman to discuss her work, women's role in society/art, also, Andrea Dworkin, Hélène Cixous, Gertrude Stein, James Joyce, mythologies (i.e.: Woman/Nature), and future endeavors.

Mikaylah is a forward-thinker in her work, film, and writings - which include her zines and blog: Millineries. She's currently working on her own short-film, Myrmidon - based on the mythologies of the Yggdrasil Tree, tree of life, and Hel, goddess of the Underworld - shot on Super 8, and the zine as it's companion. Ingenious with the camera, she creates entrancing works of art (1 | 2 | 3 | 4). Her mind/heart works in incredible ways and she serves as a great inspiration for me.

The 3 records Mik could listen to forever: 1) My Bloody Valentine - I Only Said 2) Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes 3) Jethro Tull - Stand Up

#010 - Tuesday, July 20, 2010: Girls Bite Back #3 - Sharpen the Knife

The saga continues...This 'Girls Bite Back' edition will feature more contemporary female-centered/fronted bands - most of them are happening NOW!!! All the bands included are astounding and unique in their own way and although a few (7??) are no longer active, they left an impression on me on so many different levels so it's important for me to support them and share their music with the world. We're living in a time with so many females collaborating (with men and women alike), creating, and stomping out killer jams! It's truly inspiring.

And a SPECIAL BIRTHDAY SHOUT-OUT to DJTV!!!

Cease to Exist! returns to honor some of the most radical female musicians from the past and present with the second 'Girls Bite Back' edition. I wish I could add so many more bands(!!!). I might have revise my initial plan and make more than 3 editions. I want to dedicate this show to the entire Girls Rock Camp, and everyone involved (campers, counselors, coaches, instructors, workshop mentors, liasons, etc.), for giving me one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life.

And an extremely special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Brett P. Lyman (born June 19th), who, without him, many dreams would not have happened. Such an incredible human being and loving friend. Stand-up dude right here, ladies and gentlemen.
